Today we tackle the important question around DESIGN. What can you do to structure the process of a great group or team coaching conversation? Co-creating the focus of the conversation is what keeps coaching, coaching. At the same time, it can be valuable to think through what the conversation is going to look like, keeping in mind the "book ends" of coaching openers and closers.
I also wanted to remind you of the Group Coaching Design Matrix we explore throughout the Group Coaching Essentials program. If you have a copy of my books - Effective Group Coaching OR From One to Many - you will find a copy of this in the Design Chapters.
Taking time to map out the core elements of the coaching arc is important. At the same time you may want to overlay some of the tips around solid neuroscience I cover in Effective Virtual Conversations (see chapter 6) as well as the PEBBLLES ETC Framework I first shared in that book:
PEBBLES ETC stands for:
Whether your conversations are virtual, or in person, you can incorporate these all into your process.
And don't forget my favorite design tip - LESS IS MORE! When you think about the importance of the start and close of a coaching conversation there's usually only room for one coaching activity/discussion/conversation.
Enjoy today's tip and think about what your design process might look like?
Want more support in this area?
