Leveraging the Power of Our Relationships

Just a quick note to those of you who are here in the Toronto area on Wednesday evening, April 16th. I hope that you will consider joining me at this month's International Coach Federation GTA Chapter meeting where I will be leading an interactive evening presentation with fellow ORSC coach Jennifer Miller. Jennifer and I will be delivering an experiential evening on Wednesday evening entitled "Leveraging the Power of Our Relationships".

We are always in relationship with others. Success in navigating and leveraging our relationships may mean the difference between good and great.

We'll be drawing on a really exciting hybrid of tools for you to explore your current business relationships, create a new one in the TO coaching community, while gaining some new tools for your work with group or individual clients. We'll be drawing on the amazing work of thought leaders such as Keith Ferrazzi, Jim Collins, experiential education and the Center for Right Relationship.

Here's a link to the program details. We'll be starting at about 6pm on Wednesday evening out in the West end and I hope to see you there!

If you can't make it to Toronto on Wednesday evening, Jennifer and I hope that you will be able to join us on Sunday May 4th for the Revitalize Your Partnership Virtual Retreat. It will be held by phone from 11-5 pm (EST)/8-2 pm (PT)/5-10 pm (UK). It's a six hour program held by phone developed for any business or personal partnership to reconnect, plan and look at taking their relationships from good to great. The program is well suited for business partners, co-faciltitators as well as intimate partnerships. The program is held by phone and is a combination of group coaching calls, and individual exercises undertaken from the comfort of your own home or office. Space still remains and you can find out more information or register here.

Warm wishes,
Jennifer

Creating Positive, Intentional Business Partnerships

I often think of February as the month of relationships, in part due to the presence of Valentines Day. As an Organization and Relationship systems coach (ORSC), I love the dynamics that are created through relationships. Relationships is going to be a theme for my monthly blog posts here, and also at my sister sites The Biz Toolkit and Your Balanced Life!

I have been spending quite a bit of time speaking this week about the importance of relationships as it relates to marketing during my Workshop and Retreat Essentials program and Group Coaching Essentials program. What attention have you paid to your business relationships lately?

This year I am continuing to run a number of collaborative programs and love the synergy and richness that my fellow partners and I have created. Each partnership has its own feel and energy which infuses the programs differently.

I was reminded this week about the importance of being really clear and intentional when creating partnerships, as we discussed some worst case scenarios, as well as some real life best practices for business partnerships during this week's teleseminars.

Here are some questions you may want to consider when developing your next co-facilitation, joint venture or business partnership:

* What are your goals for a partnership? What do you hope to accomplish?
* What unique skills, abilities or characteristics do you bring to the partnership?
* What are you looking for in a partner – to enhance your weaker areas, to expand you into new markets?
* What particular skills are you looking for in a partner?
* What particular characteristics are you looking for in a partner?
* What are your expectations from the partnership?
* How will you measure success?

Looking for a facilitated process for your new partnership? As an ORSC coach a large part of my work focuses on creating the space for new partnerships to start of “on the right foot” and from the strongest foundation possible. If you are an existing partnership, there is no time like the present to take the pulse of your relationship and spend some time nurturing it. Drop me an email if you and your partner are looking to design your partnership in a positive, and intentional way. I'll be offering 3 complimentary partnership design sessions this month -- one hour by phone for you and your partner.

Also, in the spirit of relationships, I will be offering a 50% discount on my relationship coaching rates for business partners (co-facilitators, those in or considering joint ventures, strategic alliances) for the month of February. This offer open from now until the end of February 2008. Email me to take advantage of it.

Have a great weekend,
Jennifer

Post Retreat Bliss

I'm still post-retreat bliss after running an incredible retreat this weekend with fellow relationship systems coach, Sharon Miller.

Five months ago, Sharon and I met at an ORSC training weekend, finding out pretty quickly that we both had a passion for the Muskoka area (and interestingly enough family roots going back generations to the same village) and for bringing relationship work into the group context. The idea of the Relationships on Fire!(TM) retreat was born.

This past weekend, Sharon and I were very pleased to bring Relationships on Fire! into the real world, and had a wonderful time facilitating our launch retreat this past weekend here in Muskoka.

The Relationships on Fire! retreat is a one day retreat for committed couples, designed to enable couples to ignite, rediscover, explore and focus their relationship. We've had so many requests that we are going to bring Relationships on Fire!(TM) down from the North Country, and we will be offering a one or 1.5 day retreat in Toronto this winter. Please keep posted about upcoming dates.

This weekend was a reminder of how much I enjoy in-person retreat work. Many of you may know that a large part of my retreat work in the last year has moved into the virtual realm - also a real blast - but to me, nothing can replace the spirit and connectedness of an in-person retreat - hence the bliss I am still feeling a few days later.

If you are looking to launch your own retreats this fall -- virtual or in person - I hope that you will consider joining me for the Workshop and Retreat Essentials teleseminar program. This October will celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of the program (Wow! I myself can't believe it, either can the hundreds of alumni of the program).

The Workshop and Retreat Essentials program will launch on September 12th and will be held on Wednesdays from 8-9:15 pm (EST) on September 12, 26, October 3 and 10 (plus a fifth group call in November). The cost of the program is $250 US, and includes all 5 calls, an 80 page e-manual, plus support from me throughout the program.

Click the link for more details. I cover tons of details to get you up and running for launching your own retreat or workshop (in person and virtual). Space is limited to 8 to ensure maximum participation -- contact me if you'd like to reserve a spot! You can register and pay by PayPal at the weblink here.

Have a great week,
Jenn

Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching

I spent a phenomenal weekend at the Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching program here in Toronto offered through CTI. ORSC is an extremely valuable approach for any coach working with teams and groups, and also provides useful tools for work with individual clients around relationship issues (business or personal. The work is grounded in Systems Theory, and provides an alternative approach to working with teams, groups and any sort of relationship.

I am amazed by the applicability of the work to so many different types of coaching-- whether you are coaching organizational teams, a business partnership, couples, or family members. Relationship systems tools can also be used to support individual's exploration of their relationship with topics such as money or success. If you are a coach wanting to add more tools to your toolkit for team based work, please check out the Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching program. I've walked away with a new set of tools to add to my toolkit for the benefit of my clients which I am looking forward to applying as soon as possible.

Are you in a business or personal relationship right now and would like support Designing Your Partnership Alliance with your partner? Prehaps you have an upcoming group coaching program, workshop or retreat program that you will be co-leading, or you are entering into a new strategic alliance, or you would like to work on a relationship issue that is important to you.

I am offering complimentary 45 minute Partnership Alliance Design sessions for interested partners which can be held by phone this wintera. I would like to complete 50 of these sessions within the next month and would welcome working with you! To schedule a Partnerhsip Alliance Design session, please email me or contact me toll free 1-866-217-1960.

I look forward to heairng from you!
