Virtual Facilitation Tips - Tips 1-4

As coaches a number of us never meet our clients face-to-face, connecting via skype or even phone. Looking at the last eleven years of my work with my clients a bulk of our connections and work has been across distance. I would put these conversations as impactful as those I have when I am able to sit down face-to-face with clients.

When moving to the group coaching realm, a lot of coaches have questions about key best practices for virtual work. Again, my experience in hosting virtual group coaching for more than a decade now, is that this work can be just as powerful, and sometimes more so in the virtual environment. As long as group size is conducive to connection and trust, the anonymity of the phone can in fact create more safety for some group members.

Inspired by the conversations I've had in training coaches though the Group Coaching Essentials and Practicum programs, as well as during the Virtual Facilitation Skills Intensive programs, I was inspired to start a new series this fall of tips. These are posted at our Effective Group Coaching Facebook page, and I know that not everyone does Facebook. So, here are the first of the series.

As you read them, consider what approaches and tips you will want to incorporate into your virtual work - whether it is a webinar, teleclass, teleseminar or virtual group coaching program:

Have a great start to the week!

With best wishes,
Jennifer
